Town of Little Suamico

Est. 1859

Welcome

1859 are the earliest records that could be found. Ernst Kuntze was Chairman, Clerk, and Treasurer. The Old Town Hall was only used to hold the Town Annual Meeting and elections. Heat was provided by a wood stove, and sanitary facilities were furnished by way of an outside privy.

The Town of Little Suamico is seeking an individual to fill a three-year position as a Plan Commission member. We are looking for dedicated candidates to be able to read, study and interpret our Town’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan and work with the public to understand and navigate zoning and permitting procedures. We have a special need for individuals currently in the Agricultural/Dairy businesses.

If interested, please email the Town Hall at lsclerk@bayland.net and let us know why you would make a great Plan Commissioner.

The Plan Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of the month at 6pm and may be required to hold additional meetings if called upon. There is a $40 per diem per meeting.  In addition, Plan Commission members are asked to make onsite visits to properties petitioned to be changed (mileage will be reimbursed). We ask that if you are interested in being on the Commission that you can dedicate time and accountability as there will be meetings that you will need to attend and a few training opportunities.

If you would just want to volunteer occasionally, or become an Alternate, please let us know that as well.
